Regional Cooperation Council (RCC): SeeCULTURE

Strengthening of WB Identity by Exploiting Cultural Cross-roads to Brand New Tourist Destinations – SeeCulture

Duration of the project:
09/11/2018 – 09/05/2019

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to sustainable cultural tourism by strengthening the cultural identity of the Western Balkans and its tourist network and to promote a positive image and a better understanding of the region itself. In accordance with the overall goal, the project aims to convey good practice and the "Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures" sign as a point of tourist attraction in Kotor and Novi Sad.
Specifically, the project deals with the topic of 'crossroads of civilizations as a regional identity - the first archipelago of products as a new identity, presenting a new regional product/cultural route called 'Meeting of Cultures' which aims to positively influence business activities along the developed regional tourist route. Selected localities in Sarajevo, Kotor, and Novi Sad strive to become new tourist attractions and starting points for visitors to the cities, but also to offer, within a certain geographical area, a recognizable and ineffable narrative of the development of the cities. Since the goal of the project is to improve the visitor experience itself and strengthen the local distinctiveness, the overall benefit permeates the creation of a deeper and more lasting connection through cultural tourism by marking new potential tourist destinations.
SeeCULTURE is implemented through funds allocated by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) - Project for the Development and Promotion of Tourism. The project is financed by the European Union, and implemented by the Council for Regional Cooperation in an effort to contribute to growth and competitiveness in six economies in the Western Balkans through development support and promotion of a joint regional cultural and adventure tourism offer.
