SISTERS Handbook Published: A Tool for More Equitable and Inclusive Sport
We are pleased to announce that the SISTERS Handbook has been officially published within the framework of the SISTERS Erasmus+ Sport project, which focuses on promoting equity, safety, and inclusion in sport.
The Handbook is the result of several months of collaborative work by project partners across Europe. Throughout this process, numerous good practices were collected, interviews and focus groups were conducted, and the experiences of athletes, coaches, sports professionals, and individuals involved in sports governance were analysed. This participatory approach enabled a comprehensive understanding of the challenges present in the sports sector, particularly in relation to gender equality, equal access to sport, and the creation of safe sporting environments.
The SISTERS Handbook provides an overview of key challenges across different sports disciplines, while also offering practical guidelines, recommendations, and tools to support the development of fairer and more inclusive sports practices. A strong emphasis is placed on the concept of sport for all, gender-sensitive governance, and the prevention of discrimination and violence in sport.
The Handbook is intended for sports clubs, federations, coaches, sports professionals, and all stakeholders who wish to contribute to positive change within the sports sector.

In the coming period, the project will continue with the development of the Sports Bag—a practical training toolkit for sports managers and athletes, designed to further support the application of equity and inclusion principles in everyday sporting practice.
