Projects 01/02/2023

Support, selection, and proper guidance of children toward the appropriate sport is one of the most important and challenging issues facing experts.

Support, selection, and proper guidance of children toward the appropriate sport is one of the most important and challenging issues facing experts. Proper guidance enhances athletes' effectiveness, enabling them to effectively harness their potential in kinesiology activities that align with their anthropological specifics.

The TALENT project focuses on establishing standards for recognizing sports talents, raising awareness about talents, and expanding the concept of dual careers for talented children aged 12 to 16.

The main aim of TALENT Project is to propose a methodology, develop standards for detection of anthropometric and motor potential of gifted young athletes for success in specific sports and increase the awareness of the special needs of youth students among teacher, trainers and parents and support athletes’ dual careers to keep talented young people in sports and educational systems and make them aware of the benefits of a dual career.

This aim will be pursued through following actions:

  • By providing the online tools for recognition of talented children
  • By providing training for skills that allow coaches, teachers and parents to recognize children’s talent
  • By promoting different possible solutions for educating talents in sports, providing a tool for the recognition of the skills involved
  • By preventing youth drop-out from school or sports through the support of student-athletes in maintaining their status
  • By strengthening the potential for the development of sports talent by connecting scientific, educational and sports organizations, and also teachers, coaches, parents and potentially gifted children
  • By increasing awareness of the importance of education for the gifted children as precondition for dual-careers.

The consortium consists of seven partner institutions:

  • Higher Education Institutions (University of Palermo and University of Nis);
  • Research center (Center for Social Innovation);
