Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures (SMOC), as one of the partners in the Erasmus+ project EPIC – Empowering Entrepreneurial Citizenship for Social Change, organised and hosted the Final Conference of the project on 17 February 2026 at Homework Hub in Sarajevo.
The conference gathered all project partners:
KMOP – Education and Innovation Hub (Greece),
CARDET – Centre for Advancement of Research & Development in Educational Technology (Cyprus),
Innovade – Innovation and Development (Cyprus),
People in Focus (Albania), and
Peer Educators Network (Kosovo).
During the conference, key project results were presented, including the developed EPIC curricula, Toolkits for youth and youth workers, and the EPIC digital platform. It was particularly highlighted that all tools and resources will remain publicly available even after the official closure of the project on 28 February 2026, ensuring long-term sustainability and continued support for young people interested in social entrepreneurship.
The journey of implementing the project was challenging, yet highly rewarding. Through the joint efforts of the consortium partners, strong foundations were laid for the development of a young social entrepreneurship community across the Western Balkans, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the concept of social entrepreneurship is still evolving and gaining recognition.
A special segment of the conference was dedicated to young people. Winning teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania once again presented their social entrepreneurial ideas. Their projects are not only innovative but respond to real community needs and demonstrate clear potential to evolve into sustainable social enterprises contributing to positive societal change.
The conference reaffirmed that social entrepreneurship is not a temporary initiative, but a long-term vision for active citizenship, innovation, and responsible business practices.
Although the EPIC project will officially conclude on 28 February 2026, this is not the end. SMOC will continue empowering young people as active citizens through new projects and initiatives, with a particular focus on applying the tools and methodologies developed within EPIC to further strengthen social entrepreneurship in the region.
