As one of the implementation partners of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project TCCWB – Supporting the Development of Transcultural Competence for Healthcare Professionals in the Western Balkans, representatives of Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures (SMOC) took part in a three-day regional event that brought together universities, healthcare institutions, and partner organisations from across the Western Balkans and the European Union. The event focused on the exchange of results, presentation of achievements, and planning of the next project steps.
The event was hosted by the University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar and took place from 16 to 17 December 2025. The programme included presentations of project activities, dialogue with local healthcare authorities, city-level networking activities, and the official 4th Steering Committee meeting of the project.
Workshop 7
The main working day was held on 16 December at the Agro-Mediterranean Faculty. During Workshop 7, project partners presented their activities, lessons learned, and proposals for project improvement, including a dedicated session delivered by SMOC. Participants also had the opportunity to hear welcome addresses from university leadership and representatives of the healthcare sector.
4th Steering Committee Meeting
On 17 December, partners reviewed the progress of pilot activities, implementation and evaluation processes, dissemination efforts, procurement procedures, financial planning, and upcoming project events. Discussions highlighted the importance of continued collaboration, transparent communication, and strategic planning as the project enters its final implementation phase.
Looking Ahead
The Mostar workshop marked a significant milestone for the TCCWB project, opening space for stronger institutional links and practical improvements in healthcare education across the Western Balkans. As the project moves closer to completion, partners will continue working on final outputs, evaluation, and reporting, while simultaneously preparing a long-term sustainability approach.
SMOC looks forward to supporting upcoming activities and further strengthening the impact of the TCCWB project in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
