Kick off meeting for the Erasmus + Sport project titled TALENT (Cloud-based education for creative sport talents) was held in Split, Croatia on February 2nd and 3rd 2023 hosted by project leader Center of Excellence of Split Dalmatia County. Consortium consisting of seven organizations from Croatia (CI SDZ), Bosnia and Herzegovina (SARAJEVO MEETING OF CULTURES), Italy (UNIVERSITY OF PALERMO), Serbia (UNIVERSITY OF NIS), Greece (KMOP), Cyprus (CSI CENTER FOR SOCIAL INNOVATION LTD) and Malta (THE EUROPEAN ATHLETE AS STUDENT) gathered to start the project focused on the integration of kids within school and sport environment, through a program that is pre-operational in respect to the real dual-career program.
The main aim of TALENT Project is to propose a methodology, develop standards for detection of anthropometric and motor potential of gifted young athletes for success in specific sports and increase the awareness of the special needs of youth students among teacher, trainers and parents and support athletes’ dual careers to keep talented young people in sports and educational systems and make them aware of the benefits of a dual career.
During the two-day meeting, apart from enjoying beautiful and sunny Split and Mediterranean cuisine, consortium discussed future plans on developing methodology for desk analysis and focused groups as well as plans for raising awareness activities for the goals and target groups of this project.
As most of the consortium members have extensive experience in sport and educational international projects, TALENT will no doubt be a successful path towards implementation of new ways of integration of talented children and finding the ways to include all relevant stakeholders in the process. In the next 30 months of the project, based on provided inputs from focused groups with coaches and experts in the field of youth sport and education, TALENT will create an online platform for integration of talented children that can be used not only for sports talents, but talents in general.
