WHO WE ARE?

SARAJEVO MEETING OF CULTURES

Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2012 with an aim to promote Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a center of different cultures. The main goal is to improve the tourist offer by bringing closer the cultural and tourism sectors in order to generate new offers in the arena of cultural tourism in the city of Sarajevo and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures” is also the name of the project that promotes the city of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a place where tolerance, peace and coexistence. This location brings together the historical and cultural aspects of Sarajevo, and is located nearby the Gazi Husrev-Bey Bezystan, or the big courtyard. At that precise location, the organization Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures, in cooperation with numerous partners, sets up a sign in the form of a ground stamp which has become the city’s recognizable symbol. In order to achieve multiplicative effects of tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures continuously works towards the strengthening of and development of creative cultural tourism products.

OUR GOALS

Provide knowledge-transfer, information and enhancement of professional qualifications of employees in the sphere of tourism and cultural sectors in close collaboration with the Higher Education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe and beyond.

Provide efficiency-oriented support to cultural institutions at the local and national level through projects with an aim to ensure synergy that leads to their strengthening and development.

Doprinos poboljšanju cjelokupnog imidža Bosne i Hercegovine kroz podršku unapređenja kulturno-turističke ponude.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be the leading organization that contributes to the positive surrounding and sustainable development of cultural tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina by creating attractive, contemporary and recognizable offers.
In order to live up to our vision, our efforts are employed to inspire, support development, introduce new forms of education and create an innovative environment for the promotion of cultural tourism and tourist riches of Bosnia and Herzegovina respecting the universal values.

OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOCIETY

Devoted to its Vision, Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures determinedly supports the cultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to, as much as possible, bring a breath of freshness and innovation to the tourism sector.

Just as Paris is referred to as the “City of Light”, London to as “The Old Smoke”, New York to as “The Big Apple”, Mumbai to as “The City of Dreams”, or Singapore to as “The Lion City”, Sarajevo certainly should be referred to as “The Meeting of Cultures”.

The “Meeting of Cultures” highlights our unique approach to, not only how we view and understand the city, but also to how we’ve given it an architectural artefact in a symbolic place in the heart of the city – where the East and the West meet in history.
