April 27-28, 2022 the kick-off meeting of the Active Citizenship for youths by enhancing LIFECOMP competencies through innovative teaching tools and techniques (ACTIVEYOUTH4LIFE) project took place in Valencia, Spain. This was the first face to face meeting of the consortium.ACTIVEYOUTH4LIFE). Ovo je bio prvi sastanak konzorcijuma koji nije održan putem online platformi.
During the meeting the consortium reviewed the findings extracted from the desk research delivered by all partners that summarize into the following important topics:
- Limitations that affect the development of active citizenship to youths
- Determinants for the development of active citizenship opportunities and practice
- Internal and external factors that affect youths’ behaviours
- Good practices for activating citizenship and teaching environmental awareness and sustainability to youths.
The two-day meeting was efficiently used to further discuss in detail all project results, including the curriculum, training handbook, digital escape room and filmmaking, and creating a credible virtual community within the framework of the project.
ACTIVEYOUTH4LIFE applies a holistic approach, addressing both youth workers, trainers, educators and youths so as to provide new alternative, inspirational means for engaging youths and cultivating their key competences that apply to all spheres of life that can help them to thrive in the 21st Century. Under this scope, the ACTIVEYOUTH4LIFE project aims to cultivate the active citizenship mindset of youths in order to enable them to act as responsible citizens by adopting sustainable lifestyles and taking responsibility for the environment.
