Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures (SMOC), ponosni partner konzorcija projekta Interreg Euro-MED MAST (MAking Sustainable Tourism possible), u uskoj saradnji sa Turističkom zajednicom Kantona Sarajevo, uspješno je organizovao Info Day and Stakeholder Event, on 28 November in Sarajevo. This gathering underscored SMOC’s pivotal role in promoting sustainable practices within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accommodation sector.
The event showcased the MAST project’s innovative framework, which equips SMEs with tools and strategies for adopting sustainability. It also highlighted SMOC's commitment to empowering local businesses by connecting them to an expansive European network of sustainable tourism operators, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and growth.
Through initiatives like these, SMOC not only fosters the adoption of global standards, such as ISO 21401, but also strengthens Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tourism industry by promoting the country’s unique accommodation offerings. This effort ensures local SMEs can enhance competitiveness to address the growing demand for eco-conscious travel.
By hosting this event, SMOC has positioned itself as a catalyst for transforming the accommodation sector, providing local businesses with resources to thrive in the evolving tourism landscape.
A heartfelt thank you to all partners and stakeholders who supported this initiative, including Tourist Associations of Sarajevo and Srednja-Bosna Canton, as well as local leaders such as Courtyard by Marriott Sarajevo, Mövenpick Hotels and Rotana Sarajevo, for their dedication to sustainability. Together, we are making sustainable tourism possible!
