SEEDS approved - Sowing agroEcological education in the VET sector

The SEEDS project aims to contribute to a more competitive VET system in the green and sustainable sector,ultimately increasing employment opportunities for VET learners. Through specialized training, VET institutions and teachers will be empowered in creating a dynamic and participatory curriculum on agroecology education and food sovereignty. The goal is to create a lasting impact on the environment, equip students with valuable "greenskills and knowledge, and promote the development of national educational strategies. This 24-month project will involve several activities across five work packages. These activities include project management and coordination, development of Guidelines for participatory agroecological curriculum, development of SEEDS Curriculum to foster sustainable agricultural practices, implementation of the Agroecological Curriculum for greener Campus, and sharing the project's outcomes and experiences with stakeholders.

The project has three concrete outcomes: ⇒comprehensive guidelines with a stakeholder engagement plan to implement a participatory curriculum, ⇒theoretical and practical Agroecological curriculum modules through the involvement of various stakeholders at local and international levels ⇒and the institution of an Agroecological Network. These outcomes aim to promote a more participative and sustainable VET system and to foster knowledge exchange and green skills between EU countries and Western Balkans Countries. The consortium is made up of 7 partner organisations coming from Italy, Greece, France, Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SEEDS has the following specific objectives:

SO1 - To develop a model for the co-creation and co-development of theoretical and practical curriculum modules in the VET sector through the involvement of various stakeholders at local and international levels, leading to the creation of participative Curriculum on Agroecology.

SO2 To equip VET providers and trainers with guidance on strategies, tools and approaches for promoting agroecology in VET institutes and implementing a participatory agroecological curriculum.

SO3 To foster exchange of newly acquired knowledge between EU and Balkans VET institution and create a network of agroecological practices.

SO4 To implement agroecological practices to "greening" VET institutes, applying newly acquired green skills and engaging VET learners in experiential learning activities related to agroecological practices.
