The kick-off meeting of the Entrepreneurial Citizenship for Social Change - EPIC project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission, took place on June 6th and 7th, 2024, in Athens, Greece. All consortium partners attended the meeting, which brings together six partner organizations from Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, Albania, and Kosovo.
💡The project emphasizes the importance of active citizenship and social entrepreneurship in addressing societal issues and driving change. It recognizes the connection between social entrepreneurship and active citizenship, highlighting the role of citizen-led initiatives in addressing societal challenges. Social entrepreneurship is seen as a way for young people to leverage their skills and motivation to develop innovative solutions while addressing social issues and adding value to society.
🎯The project aims to encourage and support the establishment of social enterprises as a means of addressing youth unemployment and providing economic opportunities. It also aims to address fundamental issues such as social exclusion and lack of skills training. By promoting a more active mindset among young people and empowering them to recognize social problems and develop ideas for social enterprises, the project seeks to promote sustainable socio-economic development and improve the well-being of young people in the Western Balkans. Through its curriculum and tools, the project will guide and support young people in turning their ideas into concrete and innovative socially-focused businesses, creating significant employment opportunities and contributing to positive social change.
