Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project EUropean Collective nArratives for Reconciliation and trauma hEaling through youth engagement and Storytelling - EU CARES, 4-day workshops were held for young people from May 22nd to May 28th, 2024, at the premises of the Bosnian Cultural Center of Sarajevo Canton.
The aim of the workshops was to address collective trauma, assist in acknowledging memories, and support the reconciliation process of vulnerable youth in the Western Balkans, as well as to transfer knowledge about this process to organizations working with displaced and vulnerable youth in the Eastern Balkans. Various storytelling techniques were employed to encourage active participation, constructive dialogue, and critical thinking.
Kako bi se postigli ti ciljevi, koristile su se različite tehnike „storytelling-a“ kako bi potaknuo aktivno sudjelovanje, konstruktivan dijalog, te kritičko razmišljanje.
On the first day of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the project and activities that were implemented, followed by an interactive session with the participants where we explored and mapped out issues related to trauma healing, conflict transformation, and social inclusion. The second day featured an interactive session on critical thinking, examining how we verify information online and narratives about Balkan history and conflicts, and their vision as future European citizens. The third day introduced an e-Handbook containing storytelling techniques that participants used on the fourth day of the workshop to address conflict through future storytelling, promote diversity and social inclusion, and strengthen peace-building skills.
