EU-CARES Roundtable

Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures organized a roundtable discussion titled "EU-CARES," which took place on April 26, 2023, at the EU Info Center. The roundtable was part of the ERASMUS+ project "EUropean Collective nArratives for Reconciliation and trauma hEaling through youth engagement and Storytelling (EU-CARES)" in collaboration with partners from Belgium (Out of the Box), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Perpetuum Mobile), Italy (CESIE), Albania (IRSH), Poland (IDEA LAB), Montenegro (PRIMA), and Serbia (Centrifuge). The project goals of "EU-CARES" are working on addressing collective traumas, assisting in the acceptance of diverse memories, supporting the reconciliation process among youth in the Western Balkans, knowledge transfer regarding reconciliation processes in collaboration with organizations working with displaced and vulnerable youth from the Western Balkans, utilizing various storytelling techniques, and enhancing the competencies of individuals working with youth. Promoting European identity among youth through the promotion of intercultural dialogue, democracy, and respect for human rights, the rights of displaced persons, refugees, and national minorities through creative practices in working with youth, is also an important component of the project covered during its implementation. The objective of the roundtable was to inform participants about the project itself through open discussion, share preliminary research results, and expert opinions on collective trauma, reconciliation, and how the youth perceive the past. The aim of the roundtable was to gather as much information as possible as part of the research to establish a solid foundation for the continuation of the project described in its educational content.
