On 02.04.2021. Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures and the High School of Applied Arts Sarajevo signed an agreement on cooperation and business-technical understanding. Within the framework of the agreement, these two institutions plan to work together in the planning and programming processes of joint specific processes and project activities through BiH, regional and EU projects. In the common interest, this agreement enables new synergy and cooperation in non-formal forms of education and the seminar organization.
One of the projects that was the impetus for this agreement is the recently approved Erasmus+ Strategic partnership project called “Art hubs for youTh” (ABT). Sarajevo Meeting Of Cultures is a partner in a consortium consisting of 5 institutions from the United Kingdom, Greece, Cyprus and Bosnia and Herzegovina. ABT aims to fight against inequality, intolerance and injustice through joint efforts and project activities by establishing an Art Hub for youth members of socially vulnerable categories.
Art as a tool for overcoming social barriers.
The ABT project will provide training material for youth workers, youth leaders and volunteers in the arts sector, while at the same time using the power of art to encourage intercultural dialogue, and by that, help to deal with problems related to xenophobia, racism and stereotype across and within groups of different cultural origins in Europe.
We would like to thank the director of the school, Mr. Elma Alić-Šobot for the beginning of our cooperation and we look forward to fruitful results in the coming period.
