”DiCultYouth” – APPROVED

Under Call 2018 Round 2 KA2 – Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices KA205 – Strategic Partnerships for youth, a project under the title Digitisation and Culture for new generations (DiCultYouth) has been approved for funding. It’s official implementation commences on 01.11.2018. and will last until 31.10.2020. The five institution partner consortium gathers representatives from Cyprus, Greece, Luxemburg, Serbia, and Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures from Bosnia and Herzegovina. DiCultYouth is coordinated by the Centre for Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology (CARDET).

The cultural heritage of the Europe is a rich and diverse mosaic of cultural and creative expressions, our inheritance from previous generations of Europeans and our legacy for those to come. The year of 2018 has been characterized by the European Union as the European Year of Cultural Heritage aiming at encouraging more people to discover and engage with Europe’s cultural heritage and reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space.

Our innovative project DiCultYouth will try to enhance employability of non-degree and unemployed young people as well as young people with an educational background in humanitarian studies who wish to work in digital archiving, museums and heritage sector interpretation, curation and education i.e in the cultural heritage sector, by creating an innovative e-training module focusing on the acquisition of basic digital skills related to the European cultural heritage. There is a need to equip a growing young workforce with skills required for the jobs of the future, not to mention re-equipping the current workforce with the skills required to keep up with a changing world. The project aims to promote access to culture via digital means.

Looking forward to a successful project launch and a two-year implementation!
